What is the World Future Society, and where does the Greater Boston Chapter fit in? The World Future Society is a non-profit educational and scientific organization for people interested in how social and technological developments are shaping the future. The Society was founded in 1966 and has grown to over 30,000 members worldwide. Members come from all walks of life. They include sociologists, scientists, corporate planners, educators, students, and retirees. They're thinking people who seek a better future for themselves and society. Since the First General Assembly in 1971, the Society has held a variety of small and large conferences that have brought together futurists from around the world to share ideas and vital information about the trends and events that will affect the world tomorrow.
